I can’t stop going to the new Nob Hill Bar and Grill. Here’s what’s calling me back:
1) Awesome steak knives. When cutting meat, I feel like I’m performing surgery with a high-tech instrument. The knives look like they came out of a futuristic ninja movie or something.
2) Young’s Double Chocolate Stout - Yes, they serve chocolate beer. Chocolate and beer, together. It sounds strange, but it works well.
3) Attention to detail: When I called to make a reservation, they asked for my last name. This tells me the servers and staff care about detail. It’s rare a restaurant will ask for a last name. I think it shows class and an effort to treat each customer uniquely.
4) Redemption: Service was slow on my first visit, but the jovial waiter who knew how to pour my chocolate beer like champ made up for it. Service has gotten more efficient now that the place has been open for a few weeks.
5) Salt Water Tank: If someone can maintain a salt water tank big enough for me to swim in (okay an exaggeration there), it’s a sophisticated place.
Conclusion: A great place to take a date or location for a dude’s night out.
(BTW, this is my first food review, and I don’t know who runs this place. So no, it’s not a shameless plug!)

This is a good “dude food review.” But how was the food?

DARN! Should have written about the food. Food was awesome. I had the quail. My girlfriend had the steak. I haven’t tried the burgers yet, but they look like monster burgers. Food was good and worth it.
